We have it all worked out.

When you arrive at the Handhills Classic Ride, you’ll quickly discover a peaceful country atmosphere, interupted by laughing and the roar of antique motorcycles.

What can I expect?

What if my motorcycle doesn’t meet Rally specs?

What isn’t allowed?

Anything else I should know?

If you love to camp, good news! Camping is included in your Rider Registration.

Camping is (relatively) painless, thanks to our facilities, which include proper flush toilet facilities.

Hope you will bring your apetite. The only meal not provided in your Registration fee is Saturday Lunch. We will eat at the (allegedly haunted) Rosedeer Hotel in Wayne, where you will be able to order your food and drinks. We need to arrive early for lunch, due to the popularity of the location and other groups that arrive for lunch. There is a space roped off for you motorcycle to park.

Saturday dinner, Sunday Breakfast and lunch are provided.

There is a campfire pit for enjoying the evenings.

There are children present at the Rally and there is play equipment for them onsite. We do occassionally find an elder-child with a white beard on the swings.

We host a Motorcycle Jeopardy game on Saturday evening with excellent prizes.

Motorcycle judging takes place on Sunday morning. It is not for the best or cleanest or most accurate restoration; it is for the favourite in each of the Rally classes. This prevents participants from spending all their time nit-picking their machine and cleaning with Q-Tips, when they could be enjoying each other’s company. Prizes are awarded on Sunday, following lunch.

The Rally is called the Handhills Classic Ride, because we want to ride together. We don’t simply arrive at the Grounds and then sit around. Should you suffer a breakdown, don’t worry. We have a chase truck and ramp to rescue you.

Finally, you may expect to have one of the best weekends of the year. The people are friendly. The food is great. The motorcycles are wonderful. And… Drumheller is magic.

There are clear expectations for what qualifies to attend this Rally. There are no prizes for attending with a motorcycle/scooter that is outside of the categories.

However, we do hope that after you come a time or two with your too-large or too-new machine, that you will see the glory of the old and the small and will choose to attend with a more suitable motorcycle.

What if my old/small bike doesn’t run? Bring it in the back of your van or pickup or on a trailer. You may find yourself blessed with advice, parts or help.

Ill or rude behavior is not tolerated. Neither is the use of illegal narcotics. Violence will ensure a visit from the local constabulary. You must be legally allowed to ride in our groups events. We require that you ride a safe machine and ride it safely. You must respect other riders and share the road wisely.

If its not legal, safe or polite, you can’t do it here.

Club colours are not permitted.

Look at the maps when they are avaiable. Do not assume you remember the correct route. Ask the rally organizers questions, when you have them. Every year some people who go the wrong way or find themselves lost. When your friend, who has been coming here ‘forever’ tells you that they know the way, make sure they actually do before you venture out on the rides.

Don’t ride alone.

Esnure that you or someone you are riding with has a fully charged cell phone and the contact information for the rally organizer.

If it is a hot summer day, a bottle of water is good idea to carry with you. We know you or your motorcycle will never break down, yet it is good to have some water along during a surprise misfortune.

Look out for each other.

Do your best to ensure everyone is included and having a good time. This guarentees you will too.
